USA, Kona, Hawaii, February 6 – March 7 2019 Darv and Carol were on staff for the final phase of the Master’s in Whole Person Health and Development with ten international students. The M.A. students presented their research papers and later the University of the Nations conferred their well earned M.A. degrees. An excellent program presented each of the candidate’s ministry background with talks and prayer following.

KOREA, Jeju, March 9-16, 2019 Darv taught in the Addictive Behavior Counseling School (ABCS) led by Hyunsuk (Mango) on Understanding Addictions, The Tree of Addictions and Addiction Recovery. Darv and Carol mentored Jungwoo Cheon and Fuana Tmarsel as leaders of the first Korean ABCS in Korea in Nov 2002 as a bilingual school. Since then as ABC school has continued in Jeju every 2 years.
ISRAEL & JORDAN, March 30 – April 24, 2019 Darv & Carol toured Israel with Rabbi Gene Binder of Cornerstone Church in Boulder & Hanna, an Israeli guide. This was a time to tour, explore and relax. We also toured Jordan.
BRAZIL, Curitiba, May 4-16, 2019 Darv taught for a week on Understanding Addictions which covers the historical definition of alcoholism bu King Solomon 3000 years ago and the Tree of Addictions. He showed brain scans of damage done by various types of addictions. Carol taught God’s Design for Maturity.
USA, Salem, Oregon, May 17-26, 2019 Carol taught in Foundations for Counseling Ministry (FCM) on God’s Design for Maturity from pre-birth to infancy, child, adult and elder stages. Darv gave a brief overview of addictions.
USA, Hyannis, Massachusetts, Sept 5-7, 2019 Darv was invited by Michael Dinneen to attend a Cape Cod Symposium on Addictive Disorders (CCSAD) where Mike Dinneen helped lead an excellent workshop on Recovery Connections – Stages of Nurturing for an Integrated Journey.
PORTUGAL, Lisbon, Oct 5-24, 2019 Darv and Carol taught in the first FCM counseling school in Portugal with leaders Gustavo Lima & Sandra Beuren. While there Darv was invited by Tom Bremer, Director of Teen Challenge Europe and the new director of International Substance Abuse and Addiction Coalition (ISAAC), to share on the Historical Definition of Definition of Alcoholism & and Tree of Addiction with many visiting international leaders.
INDIA, Manipur, Nov 7-21, 2019 Darv & Michael Dinneen (a social worker and leader of Valiant Living addiction rehab program in Denver) traveled to Manipur to visit and teach in Mayola Ngamchiyo’s rehab program which started in Ukhrul, Manipur in May, 2019. Mayola was treating 8 women with heroin addiction. All the addicts went through detox followed by a 3-month rehab program using daily process group therapy to obtain healing from childhood trauma. After the rehab they will continue with aftercare to further their healing and prevent relapse.
Darv & Mike took a 3 hour drive to Imphal to visit and teach in a men’s rehab program started by Ashang Kasar in the capital city Imphal. Michael taught on understanding addictions and recovery. Darv helped start daily process groups for trauma recovery. With a program of 25 heroin addicts, Ashang needed more help to teach and lead this rehab. Fortunately they will soon have more staff in January. We also led a workshop with Raaj and other rehab leaders in Imphal. Some of the leaders requested that we return to provide further training.
NEPAL, Kathmandu Nov 22 – Dec 6, 2019 Darv attended the International Substance Abuse & Addiction Coalition (ISAAC) held at the Park Village Hotel from 11/25-28. Darv taught on the historical definition of alcoholism and the Tree of Addiction. About 100 people attended this conference with about half from Nepal. Darv also taught in 2 churches and 2 faith- based rehab programs – Salvation Nepal and Vision Rehabilitation Centre. In the Vision Centre program they used the book,12 Steps for Christians, as a major guide to provide deeper healing throughout the 12 steps.
USA, Las Vegas, Nevada, January 30 – February 2, 2020 Darv attended the Leadership Meeting of International Substance Abuse & Addiction Coalition (ISAAC) arranged by Dean Perry. ISAAC was started by global leaders of various Christian Rehab Programs in 1997. Their purpose was to connect, encourage and equip Christian workers across the world who desire to bring addicts into healing. The current General Secretary for ISAAC is Tref Lloyd-Roberts from the UK. The current ISAAC President is Tom Bremer, leader for over 50 Teen Challenge programs in Europe.
